Privacy Policy

1. Core principle

The current core study features do not require a separate Quiz Notebook membership account. Study sets, photos, OCR results, and study records are stored locally on the user's device by default. An Apple, Google, Microsoft, or other platform store account may still be required to install or purchase the app. Quiz Notebook does not collect personal information for advertising, user tracking, or sale.

2. Photos and camera

Photos selected or taken by the user are used only to create sets, run OCR, and make image-occlusion activities. OCR runs on the device, and Quiz Notebook does not send those photos to its operator's server.

3. Storage and deletion

Data is stored in the app or browser's local storage. Users can delete individual sets or remove local data in Settings. Before deleting the app, users should export any material they want to keep as a JSON backup. App data may be included in device backups the user has enabled (iCloud Backup, Google account backup, device-transfer features); such backups are stored only in the user's own account and are never sent to the Quiz Notebook operator.

4. Backup and sharing

You create backups and choose where to save them. If you send a backup to a cloud service or another app, that service’s privacy policy applies. Optional deck accounts and purchase linking in supported versions are described below. Signing in alone does not synchronize your private study materials to our server.

5. Website statistics

The quiznotebook.com website counts, anonymously, which pages are opened and how often a feature is used. It sets no cookies, does not identify visitors, and does not track anyone across sites. Study material you type into the deck maker stays on your device and is never part of these counts. The number of items you create is recorded only as a range (1–10, 11–50, 51 or more), never an exact figure. The Quiz Notebook app itself collects no such statistics.

6. Feedback and support

The feedback option opens the user's email app. Only the message the user chooses to send is transmitted. Study materials and device information are not attached automatically.

Quiz Notebook is operated by YSE EDU (representative: Hyunho Son, Seoul, Republic of Korea). Data protection officer: Hyunho Son. Send privacy questions, access or deletion requests to support@quiznotebook.com; we reply without undue delay after verifying the request.

10. Deck purchases and restoration

App versions with deck purchases use RevenueCat, Inc. to verify purchases, provide and restore access, and analyze purchases. On launch and purchase or restore, a random app user ID, product IDs, purchase tokens and transaction status, app and OS versions, locale and storefront country, and last-opened time may be sent over an encrypted connection. RevenueCat processes this information on servers in the United States. Apple, Google, or the applicable store handles payment; the Quiz Notebook operator does not receive card numbers. We do not send study materials, photos, OCR results, or personal study records to RevenueCat. Purchase and access records are retained while needed to provide and restore purchased content. Send access or deletion requests to support@quiznotebook.com. We explain any effect deletion may have on restoration; records retained separately by the store follow its own policy.

11. Optional deck accounts and purchase linking — 9 October 2026

Supported versions of Quiz Notebook Pro offer an optional email-verified deck account. This account is not required for basic local study. Linking is limited to supported apps and products; owning one product does not unlock a different product.

We process your email address, internal account ID, authentication/session records, product IDs, purchase tokens, transaction identifiers and status to manage your account, verify and restore purchases, deliver purchased content and prevent abuse. Connection IP addresses and authentication requests may be used for security and rate limiting. Connections use HTTPS; purchase tokens are encrypted on the server. Your personal decks, photos, OCR results, notes and handwriting are not sent to this purchase-account server.

The account server runs on Microsoft Azure in South Korea. Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) processes your email address, verification code and delivery information to send authentication email; processing may occur in the United States and other countries. Store and RevenueCat purchase processing is described in section 10. Authentication email is not marketing consent.

Account and purchase-link records are retained while needed to provide these features. Choose Delete account in the Realtor decks screen or use the request page below. Deleting a shared account also affects its sessions and purchase links on other devices. Account records, sessions and purchase links are deleted; irreversible anti-abuse identifiers may be retained for up to 90 days. Store transaction records and records legally required to be retained are subject to their separate retention rules. Local study files are deleted separately by you.

This website and visitor statistics

This section covers the Quiz Notebook information website, separately from the app policy above. GoatCounter runs only on localized public pages at quiznotebook.com and www.quiznotebook.com. The web host Netlify may process IP addresses and browser request information to serve the site. GoatCounter is provided by Martin Tournoij in Ireland, using Hetzner servers in Finland and Germany.

We aggregate public page paths and titles, referring website addresses (domains), browser, operating system, screen width and country. Page language is distinguished by its path. Analytics exclude page query strings and fragments, detailed referrer paths, queries and fragments, study text, photographs and form contents. To distinguish visits, IP addresses, User-Agent and site information are processed in memory for up to 8 hours; raw IP addresses and User-Agent are not stored in the database. Aggregated statistics are retained until the operator deletes them.

Effective date: 2026-09-06. Your language choice is saved in this browser’s storage for your next visit; clearing the site’s browser data removes it. During automatic language redirects, the referring website address (domain) and destination page address are saved in this tab’s temporary storage. They are valid for 60 seconds and deleted after use or when the tab closes. No user identifier is saved in this browser storage.
